I guess you clicked here because you are nosy. It’s ok; this is the first place I check out on a blog too.
My name is Janel (aka The Evil Mommy) and I am a mom who is trying hard to raise happy, well-adjusted, successful little people. Some days are good, some days are bad and most days are complete chaos.
I designed this blog to help all moms, but especially the forgotten population of moms with teenagers. When your kids are little, there are books, websites and mommy groups to help guide you, but once the kids hit puberty, everyone is like, “Good luck with that!”
I hope all of you mommas dealing with grumpy teenagers can find something here to help make your life easier, make you laugh or just let you know that you are not alone.
Meet The Evil Family
This is my husband/4th child, Dave. He is a little crazy, likes to play the guitar, brew beer, watch football and play video games. Fun fact; we were only 16 when we met! We started dating at 18 and tied the knot in 2001. Dave and I are complete and total opposites, but we balance each other out pretty well and he always makes me laugh.
Here is David Christopher Jr. He is the typical grumbly, kinda disagreeable teenager, but he is also an animal whisperer, an overall good kid and great at following the rules.
Riley Elizabeth is the middle child and only girl. She is the most ambitious, hard working kid I’ve ever met, with a touch of sass and the appetite of an elephant.
The baby of the family is Mason John. He is a closet genius and will probably grow up to be a supervillain unless we can harness his intellect for good.
I can’t forget to introduce you to Clutch, the Boxer and Winston, the Labradoodle.
When I turned forty, I decided I should figure out what I want to be when I grow up. After some soul searching, I decided I wanted to go back to my childhood dream of writing, so here we are. The blog was started as a creative outlet and to document all the crazy, fun adventures we have as a family, but it is always growing and evolving.
You can check out my very first post here. It will give you a good insight to my parenting style. If you want to learn about my weight loss surgery journey, start with this post. And make sure you take some time to poke around and check out all the other musings and ramblings on the site.
If you have made it this far, I hope you like my writing style and want to read more of it. Or maybe you just want to see more pics of my hottie husband. Either way, make sure you subscribe to my emails and follow me on social media for the latest escapades of the Evil Mommy!
